The VDP Writing Evenings provide an opportunity for focused work on dissertations and academic texts. They are accessible to philosophy PhD candidates, advanced master's students, or anyone in between.
- Every Monday, 15:00-19:00, in Room 3A, NIG, Universitätsstraße 7, 1010 Vienna, it's writing o'clock. No registration necessary, just show up (Except on public holidays and lecture-free periods).
- Each Writing Evening consists of 4 writing sessions, each session comprising 50 minutes of writing and 10 minutes of peer interaction/break.

"From Reading to Planning and Writing Academic Texts"

This workshop covers the process of developing an academic text at PhD level from the ground up, including: orientation, parameters of text design, finding/choosing/reading/processing academic sources, planning text structure, drafting and revising. Special focus is given to efficient and reliable routines as well as interacting with supervisors throughout this process so as to avoid common pitfalls and mistakes.
